Our mission is simple, to show others the beauty of Uganda in a sustainable and responsible way

Lalu African Tours creates affordable and unique itineraries, that promote Uganda, her cultural and her breath-taking landscapes. Why? Because we believe Uganda has something for everyone and the best way to protect her national parks, and forests is to support conservation efforts through tourism.

Husband and wife co-founders John and Abby created Lalu in 2020. John, born in Northern Uganda, had been working in tourism for the past 10 years, managing lodges and organising excursions for tourists in some of Uganda’s most beautiful regions. Abby, originally from the UK made Uganda her home in 2017, working in education in East, West, Northern and Central Uganda.

Together they decided they had the expertise, hands on experience and love for Uganda to start Lalu - and they’ve been travelling Uganda ever since!

Lalu’s pledge

We empower others

We are sustainability focused

Responsible tourism is our goal. We pay our employees competitively, seek Ugandan owned lodges, and partner with local experts in different regions. We are actively seeking ways to increase the females in our team, and 5% of all profits are donated to conservation efforts in Uganda.

We are experience driven

We believe it is the food, people, cultural exchanges, and all those warm and fuzzy moments in-between that make up an experience. We won’t stop travelling Uganda (because we love it) but also because we are finding the best routes, accommodations, road side snacks, off the typical tourist trail experiences for you!

We are professional and reliable

We use the best safari vehicles, equipped to handle Ugandan roads, the cars are insured and safe. All of our guides are fully qualified and we’ve checked out all of the routes and accommodations too!
